CCRC Float Flyin’ ‘n’ Lyin’

I didn’t make it to eWeek at Triple Tree as I had hoped, but had a wonderful time participating in CCRC’s first ever Float Fly at Lynwood Lakes development in Greensboro!

Commercial Drones Legal?

It looks like it might be legal to use your multi-copter for commercial purposes, at least for a while. A recent court ruling proved favorable for the defendant in the FAA’s case against Raphael Pirker, fined $10,000 for flying a UAS through the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville, Virginia. Details of the case can be read on the AMA blog here.

The Wright Stuff!

UPDATE! I contacted Stuart Matthews, owner of The Wright Stuff, about this article and he’s com up with a special for us R/Cers. Through the end of March, if you purchase an hour of simulator time you’ll get an extra 15 minutes for free! Just mention this offer! Thanks Stuart!

I dropped in because I had seen the business and was curious as to what exactly it was, but haven’t tried the simulators yet. Continue reading

Summer Is here! So is the new website!

Hey everybody, I just want to say ‘hi’ and introduce myself a little bit. I am getting back into R/C after being mostly out of it for about 20 years. I was delighted to discover the Kernersville R/C club has a field just 3 miles from my house! I have been emailing with Keith and took it upon myself to create a website for the club and was able to put this together in just a few hours. Ain’t technology great? I look forward to meeting the other members and flying with you guys. Hey, 99.9% of us on the sticks are guys, right? Please let me know if any ideas you have for the website and please share any photos or YouTube videos that you’d like to. Land softly!
